Is Nick Clegg a Good Negotiator?

What do recent events tell us about the leader of the Liberal Democrats?

One of the things I teach on my influencing and negotiating skills training course is that the best way increase your power in a negotiation is to develop alternatives. In other words, if you are negotiating with someone but you have other options, then you are in a more powerful position. By negotiating with both Labour and the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats have more leverage than if they were negotiating with one party alone.

Think about it this way. In ANY relationship the person who has the most power is the one who cares the least.  The easier it is for you to walk away the more control you have - and less stress. How does this relate to your situation? More details: Influencing Skills Courses.
