Influencing Skills at NHS Conference in Manchester
Last week I ran a workshop for nurses within the NHS who specialise in treating lung cancer. The title of the conference was 'Overcoming Challenges', and it highlights how just about every organisation has challenges FROM WITHIN.
You might think that improving influencing skills was intended to improve patient care and recovery, however the challenges they were referring to were about being able to influence key decision makers and for the nurses to put their views forward confidently.
In the short space of time that we had I was able to help them with how to advocate an idea or proposal so that it is taken seriously and how to influence a leader or someone in authority by adapting thier approach to different personality styles. More on influencing skills training here.
