What can hypnosis help?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state which, when combined with therapeutic methods by a qualified hypnotherapist, can help people with a wide range of symptoms. These include phobias, panic attacks, anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, performance anxiety, blocked grief, eating disorders, habits and smoking.

How does hypnosis work?

Most of us would like to think that our actions and reactions are as a result of conscious, logical thought processes.  But the largest and most dominant part of our mind is the subconscious.  Although the conscious mind might appear to "call the tune", it is in fact heavily influenced by the desires of the subconscious.  That is why you can rationalise the need to remain calm, stop smoking, eat less etc. but if the subconscious does not want you to change, it will perpetuate your behaviour.

Hypnosis is a quick and effective route to the subconscious, and by addressing the problem at this profound level, it is possible to bring about rapid and lasting change.
