Counselling Skills at Work

Why This Training?

At work an employee can find themselves faced with a person who is in need of support, and it is of great value to have some effective counselling skills.  It might be that another employee needs help because they are under stress, bereaved or experiencing personal problems. Alternatively, officers may be employed to help client groups who regularly face difficult situations and experience emotional problems. This would apply to social workers, housing officers and health care workers.

The following counselling skills training course is designed to equip delegates with the fundamental knowledge, skills and awareness to be of support to others in the workplace. Despite the seriousness of the topics covered, delegates can expect a lively, enjoyable and interactive course.

The course is not intended to make delegates full-time counsellors, rather its aim is to help them acquire some learnable and practical skills for workplace counselling.

"Covered a large amount of information that was very relevant to the work undertaken with clients. Very enjoyable  - right amount of exercises and discussion. Varied and interesting".
Harriet Bolton, Senior Housing Support Officer.

"I certainly got more out of it than I expected. The mix helped keep the interest throughout the day. Well run and organised". Simon Jones, Sales Director.
